This project was undertaken for the Government of Sikkim. It revives the traditional technique of lime plaster using undercoat of kankar lime (lime with pozzolon mixed in natural state), seasoned with kitchen ingredients like gur, methi, guggal and jute fibres. The final top coat of aarish (stucco) plaster was prepared with white lime (air lime) with a mixture of curd, matured over months, polished and finished with starch wash. The colours used were prepared from natural pigments of plants and food products.
